We hold ourselves to a high standard of excellence. This includes every aspect of our practice, from the patient care we provide to the equipment we use to the health and safety protocols we follow to the incidental services we offer, such as being available to our patients during emergencies. Above all, our aim is to provide each of our patients with tools that they can utilize during acute flare ups of symptoms as well as remission maintenance.
Experienced Dentist
Dr. Gong has completed extensive education and clinical training in comprehensive dental care as well as specialized training in orofacial pain, oral medicine and dental sleep apnea. She is certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She holds memberships and fellowships in many professional organizations. Driven to constantly improve her knowledge and the services she provides, she frequently attends conferences and society meetings to learn about the latest advancements in the field so that she offers these new techniques and technologies to our patients. In all of these ways and more, we are able to provide our patients with the highest quality dental care.
Preventive Care
Preventive care is an essential part of ensuring good health. With that in mind, we make sure to include an array of routine preventive services in our comprehensive patient exams. These include:
- Physical inspection of the teeth and gums
- X-rays
- Health awareness questionnaire such as pain-behavior checklist, depression and anxiety level, hypersomnolence level etc.
- Rest and posture exercises of jaw and neck
- Relaxation exercise
- Airway exercise
We also take in-depth medical histories from each of our patients when they come to our office. This helps us to better understand our patients' current health, predict what problems might develop in the future, and keep track of any medications they are taking that may impact their health.
The Importance of Patient Education
A key part of preventing flare-ups of orofacial pain is being aware of how they can develop. We strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services we provide. In addition to talking with our patients during their exams, we have a ready supply of patient education materials such as brochures and information sheets in our office. We encourage our patients to read about orofacial pain and ask us questions about how to get pain under control.
